1. General Terms & Conditions

1.1 Eligibility

  • The Challenge is open to students, independent filmmakers, and professionals
  • The submitted film must:
    • Be in Tamil or Malayalam
    • Be produced after 01 January 2024
    • Have a duration between 5-40 minutes
    • Not be publicly available on YouTube or any OTT platform during the contest
    • If previously uploaded, it must be removed during the contest period
  • Each film must be registered separately
  • Submission does not guarantee selection or awards

1.2 Originality & Rights

  • The film must be original work
  • Filmmaker must hold rights for script, music, footage, performances, artwork, and third-party content
  • Copyright violations may result in disqualification
  • ABC Talkies is not liable for IP disputes

1.3 Registration & Fees

  • Registration fee is non-refundable
  • Payment does not guarantee awards or outcomes

1.4 Filmmaker Responsibilities

  • Active participation is mandatory
  • Promotion required via social media, communities, and networks
  • Engagement may impact evaluation

1.5 Code of Conduct

  • Participants must maintain professional conduct
  • No defamation of platform or partners

1.6 Fraudulent Activity

  • Manipulating views or metrics leads to disqualification

1.7 Limitation of Liability

  • ABC Talkies not responsible for technical failures or disruptions

1.8 Force Majeure

Platform may modify timelines due to unforeseen events

1.9 Jurisdiction

All disputes fall under Ahmedabad, India jurisdiction

1.10 Amendments

Terms may be updated anytime by ABC Talkies

2. Technical & Submission Requirements

  • Minimum Full HD (1080p) resolution
  • Clear audio quality
  • Proper formatting and aspect ratio
  • Required metadata and thumbnails
  • Subtitles where applicable
  • Non-compliance may affect visibility

3. Awards, Incentives & Grants

Evaluation Framework

  • Jury – 40%
  • Internal Committee – 15%
  • Engagement – 25%
  • Audience Viewership – 20%

Prize Money

  • Subject to Indian tax laws
  • Requires PAN, bank details, and documents
  • TDS may apply

Production Grant

  • Applies to next short film
  • 3 concepts must be submitted
  • Payment split: 50% / 25% / 25%
  • Delivery within 30 days
  • Ownership remains with ABC Talkies

4. Platform Rights & Usage

  • Filmmakers retain ownership
  • ABC Talkies can host, stream, and promote films
  • Distribution may include OTT, TV, festivals
  • Filmmakers agree to promotional participation
  • Marketing assets must be provided
  • Platform has perpetual promotional rights
